EDUCATIVE SUPERVISION IMPROVES TEACHERS' ABILITY TO USE LEARNING METHODS IN THE 2023 MERDEKA CURRICULUM MTSN 1 MEDAN

To improve teachers' ability to use learning methods at MTsN 1 Medan, the principal carried out school action research related to the problems of (1) low teacher awareness of learning, (2) lack of opportunities for teachers to take part in training, both regionally and nationally. The standard components of teacher competency include: (1) Competency Components for Learning Management and Educational Insights, (2) Academic/Vocational Competency Components according to learning material, (3) Professional development. The design used in this research is school action research, namely research carried out in the school environment. School action research can obtain practical benefits in the form of improvements in student learning problems and teacher difficulties in learning. increasing the professionalism of class VIII teachers in using learning methods through educational supervision at MTsN1 Medan even semester 2023. Teacher professionalism has increased and has been explained in the discussion with the initial percentage of planning decisions by class VIII teachers in cycle 1 of 72.94% increasing to 95 .44% in cycle 2. Likewise, the results of implementing learning from cycle 1 were 74.58, increasing to 94.62% and the results of assessing student achievement from cycle 1 to cycle 2 also increased, namely 82.46% to 92.64%.
