PENGARUH KOMPETENSI SOSIAL TERHADAP KINERJA GURU

This study aims to examine the effect of social competence on teacher performance. Social competence is an individual's ability to interact and communicate effectively in a social context. Teacher performance is a measure of the extent to which teachers achieve educational goals and provide effective teaching. The method of writing scientific articles is by using qualitative methods and literature studies or Library Research. Reviewing literature books in accordance with the theories discussed especially in the scope of Teacher Professionalism and Teacher Performance.
The results of the study show that social competence has a significant effect on teacher performance. Teachers who have good social competence are able to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. They are able to communicate clearly, listen empathetically, and understand individual needs in educational settings. This allows teachers to create a positive learning climate, motivate students, and increase student involvement in learning.
In addition, teachers who have strong social competence are also able to manage classes effectively. They can build positive discipline, manage conflict, and create a safe and inclusive learning environment. The teacher's ability to adapt to changes in the educational environment is also an important factor that is influenced by social competence. Teachers who have good social skills are able to adapt to changing curricula, technology, and the diverse needs of students.
Problem solving and collaboration are other important aspects that are influenced by social competence. Teachers who have strong social competence can think critically, find effective solutions, and work in teams to improve the quality of learning. They can collaborate with colleagues, involve students in the learning process, and utilize collective resources to achieve educational goals.
In conclusion, this study shows that social competence has a significant influence on teacher performance. Teachers who have good social competence tend to achieve better performance in terms of building positive relationships, managing the classroom, adapting to change, and solving problems and working collaboratively. Therefore, it is important for teachers and educational institutions to pay attention to the development of social competence as an integral part in improving teacher performance and student learning outcomes.
