DAMPAK PANDEMI COVID-19 TERHADAP PETANI IKAN AIR TAWAR DI KECAMATAN BAROS

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the economic sector, including the agricultural sector. The losses experienced by farmers, one of which was caused by the declining purchasing power of the people and the distribution factor during the period of social distancing, physical distancing, work from home (WFH), and large scale social restrictions (PSBB). Covid-19 also has an effect on various farming activities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method by describing the phenomena that occur in the agricultural sector as a result of the corona virus. The purpose of the study was to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the income level of freshwater fish farmers before and during the pandemic in Baros District. Sampling method for farmers is done by purposive sampling method. The samples taken were 40 farmers, 10 samples for carp farmers, 10 samples for pomfret fish farmers, 10 samples of tilapia farmers and 10 samples of catfish farmers. Data collection includes secondary data and primary data. The analytical method used is income analysis. Based on the results of the study that the average net income of freshwater fish farmers per harvest season obtained from November 2020 to February 2021 (during the pandemic) during one harvest season is Rp. 5,855,000,- carp farmer, Rp. 5,230,000, - for pomfret farmers, Rp. 6,220,000 for tilapia farmers, and Rp. 6,142,000 for catfish farmers. However, it is inversely proportional to the period from March 2021 to June 2021, where there is a decrease in income per harvest season for carp farmers of Rp. 4,937,000, - and pomfret farmers of Rp. 4,224,000. Meanwhile, tilapia farmers have increased to Rp. 6,506,000, and catfish farmers Rp. 6.585.000,-.
To increase the validity of the data, the researchers conducted checks, checks and crosschecks as well as direct observations of freshwater fish cultivation and marketing distribution of harvested products. The data collection method used participatory observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed using four qualitative research steps, including data collection, data classification according to the problem formulation, data screening and drawing conclusions.
