Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the strategy of meeting the economic needs of the community that occurred during the co-19 pandemic, especially employees who had been laid off in Kertasana village, Bojonegara sub-district. The method used in this research is qualitative research. The research was conducted in the Serang Regency area in October-November 2021 involving 20 questionnaires consisting of employees who had been laid off. The research instrument is the researcher himself as the main instrument, then the researcher goes directly to the field to meet informants, conduct participatory observations, in-depth direct interviews and conduct google forms to strengthen the data. Data analysis was carried out using four stages, namely data collection, data classification, data filtering, and conclusion making. The results of the study concluded that after many employees were laid off, there were many changes, especially in livelihood changes such as haircuts, gojek or maxim, Steam Motor, construction workers and frozen food such as fried Chiken, Pop Ice, Wedang Jahe and others and the decline in opinion was very significant, namely around 70%. It was found that in Kertasana village, almost 30% of its residents lost their jobs due to layoffs. The employment strategy carried out by residents of Kertasana village, bojonegara sub-district, serang district, has shifted to the service sector, namely gojek or maxim around 35%, and the smallest is barbershop only 10%.
