JERIT TANGIS PENGRAJIN EMPING MELINJO DI ERA PANDEMI COVID-19 DI KABUPATEN PANDEGLANG

The Covid-19 pandemic that is currently happening has become the main focus of the world community, because there are so many impacts that arise in various sectors, including for melinjo confectionery craftsmen in Pandeglang Regency. The purpose of this study is to: a) describe the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the existence of Melinjo Craftsmen in Pandeglang Regency, and b). How is the survival strategy in the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
The method used in this research is qualitative research with an ethnomethodological approach. This research was conducted in June 2021. The research locus was in Pandeglang Regency. The research informants included 4 emping melinjo craftsmen and various relevant parties related to this research. The process of selecting key informants and informants rolled like a snowball. To increase the validity of the data, researchers checked, rechecked and cross-checked and spent more time with informants. Data collection methods used participatory observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed using four steps of qualitative research, including data collection, data classification according to the friend/problem formulation, data filtering and conclusion drawing.
Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded; first, melinjo icing craftsmen in Menes Subdistrict, Menes Regency were severely affected economically during the Covid-19 pandemic; second, the survival strategy of melinjo icing craftsmen was carried out by utilizing the land around the house by planting vegetables, raising chickens and anticipating kitchen expenses every month.
