Abstract

The objectives of this study are to: a) describe the interest of muzakki in paying zakat during the pandemic, b) describe the strategy of BAZNAS Banten Province in increasing zakat collection during the pandemic through improving the quality of services for muzakki, and c) describe the strategy of BAZNAS Banten during the Covid-19 pandemic in improving the quality of services for muzakki. collection by utilizing the Digital Platform,

The method used in this study is qualitative research with an ethnomethodological approach. The research was conducted in October 2021. The focus of the research was at the Office of the Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) Banten Province. Research informants include 10 (ten) muzakki who are used to paying zakat to BAZNAS Banten, 1 (one) amil for data and muzaki services, 1 (one) amil for digital fundraising, 1 (one) Head of Division and 1 elements of the leadership of BAZNAS Banten, as well as various relevant parties related to the research theme. The process of selecting key informants and informants rolled like a snowball. To increase the validity of the data, researchers conducted checks, checks, and crosschecks, as well as prolonging time with informants. The data collection method used participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using four qualitative research steps including data collection, data classification according to the theme/problem formulation, data filtering, and drawing conclusions.

Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that for almost two years the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Banten Province has tried to boost zakat collection in the midst of the economic downturn due to the impact of COVID-19, on the other hand, the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Banten Province has also made a recofusing policy for the program. - program for handling Covid-19 survivors based on MUI fatwa no. 23 year 2020.

Based on the results of data analysis, it can also be concluded that in less than two years, everyone was struggling in a crisis situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Various business sectors were affected, including the non-profit Zakat Management Organization (OPZ), one of which was the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Banten Province. People tend to limit themselves to leaving the house, especially muzaki (zakat payers) because of the government's policy on social distancing and physical distancing. The zakat management organization (OPZ) is one of the businesses affected in this Covid-19 pandemic situation, but as a Non-Structural Government Agency, BAZNAS Banten Province still has to serve muzakki and mustahik optimally. Increasing the collection of zakat, infaq shadakoh and other humanitarian funds at BAZNAS Banten Province can be done by making strategies and innovations that can attract the interest of muzaki and prospective muzaki by means of digital fundrising and crowd funding and in their activities still implementing strict health protocols.
